Winning awards and breaking records is nothing new to Yarradale Stud’s long-serving stallion War Chant (USA).

No horse deserved to break a run of outs more than Ginger Baker at Ascot on Saturday.

Pearce Racing trained its second grey winner by Yarradale Stud sire Gingerbread Man when Charcoal Chaos was successful in the Great Western Insurance Brokers Maiden (1200m) at Geraldton last Thursday.

Steve Wolfe was pleased to welcome Ginger Green back to scale at Ascot on Saturday but he was far from happy to learn his Gingerbread Man star Red Can Man would miss an important gallop at Mount Barker on Sunday.

Denim Wars was balloted out of the $150,000 Grassroots Gallop (1400m) at Caulfield on Wednesday but that may be a blessing in disguise for part-owner and trainer Colin Scott.
