The real Streak Of God stood up in the Afgri Equipment Hcp (1650m) on Wednesday and that was good enough to upset a plunge on Cheeto (Universal Ruler) at Belmont

Streak Of God (4g Playing God - Streak Away by O’Reilly) is a Yarradale Stud-bred graduate and he was giving the leaders ten lengths along the riverside before coming with an irresistible finish in the lucky last for Willie Pike.

Racing in the First Light livery, he collared Impressive Jewel (Playing God) in unison with Cheeto passing the 100m marker and had the measure of the money horse to score by a length.  He had won a Bunbury maiden in February but had been a costly conveyance in subsequent outings.

“He stormed back into winning form and they don’t win much better than that!” First Light Racing posted on Facebook.  “He’s a quirky gelding who has always shown plenty of ability so it was brilliant to see him put it all together and deliver a huge win for his patient owners!”

Streak Of God was sold by Yarradale for $180,000 at the 2024 Perth Magic Millions and he’s paid back $55,000 to date with hopefully more to come via lucrative Westspeed Bonuses for the 4yo division over longer journeys this season.

“He’s an enigma and has got the better of me more than once,” Pike revealed.  “But the ability has always been there and he showed that today.”

Pike is also on record declaring we won’t see the best of him for another six to twelve months.  That was after the Bunbury maiden win in February so this season could be the making of Streak Of God.

Yarradale is making the most of its stake in Playing God and they bred the Champion WA Sire’s latest winner from Streak Away who is four-from-four at stud following Swift Streaker (Patronize), Dashing Erika (Smart Missile) and Lucky’s Way (Bradbury’s Luck).

Second-dam Brava Fortune (Falbrav) carried Yarradale’s green and gold colours to win the G2 Karrakatta Plate (1200m) in 2008 as did third-dam Fortune Streak (Pricelessly) in the LR Burgess Queen Stakes (1400m) of 2001.

Yarradale sire Shooting To Win was also on the mark at the midweek meeting with Truly Loyal an odds-on winner of the Lawn Pride Australia Maiden (1200m).  He’s a Peters Investments homebred and was appearing for just the second time after a debut fifth behind Solar Chant (Earthlight) at Ascot in April.

Truly Loyal is a half-brother to Ascot winner Truly Supreme (Trapeze Artist) and they’re from a Peters Investments family bulging with black-type stars like G1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) winner Perfect Reflection (More Than Ready).

Shooting To Win (Northern Meteor) stands alongside Gingerbread Man (Shamardal) at Yarradale and they are both priced at $5,500 (inc GST) this season.   For all enquiries contact Davy Hanratty on 0429 336 904.
