Wise Dan will start the defense of his USA Horse of the Year crown in the G1 Maker's Mile at Keeneland on Friday and his stablemate and younger half-sister Enchanting Lisa is due to resume on Saturday week, April 19.

Enchanting Lisa is a daughter of Yarradale Stud sire War Chant and she looked full of promise winning by 7 lengths on debut at Presque Island Downs in June.  She followed up with an unlucky allowance placing after being pocketed until late in the straight at Saratoga in August.

Enchanting Lisa (4f War Chant – Lisa Danielle by Wolf Power) has been working steadily toward her Keeneland return after working 1200m in 1.14.80s last Tuesday.  "I'm excited to get her back to the races,” trainer Charlie LoPresti said earlier this week.  “She was pretty green last year but her first race was very impressive at Presque Isle.

“She’s doing good and is on schedule.  We're getting Jose Lezcano back to ride - he really likes her.”

War Chant (Danzig) has already sired four stakes horses in America and England this year with racing only just starting after the winter break in the northern hemisphere.  He shuttles from Three Chimneys Farm in Kentucky to Yarradale and his lifetime stakes tally is now 73.

All the astute buyers were on War Chant at Perth’s Magic Millions in February.  He broke all records for a first-crop Sunspeed sire with 20 lots averaging $97,000 during Book 1 at Belmont Park.
