Yarradale Stud sire Gingerbread Man has taken an early lead for the WA 2YO Sires’ premiership with earnings over $181,000 after his unbeaten colt Beatty put several youngsters to the sword in the Crystal Slipper Stakes (1100m) on Saturday.

It was another grey day for Yarradale Stud and Greenfields Lodge when Neap Tide made it back-to-back wins in the Nixon Electrical Hcp (2000m) at Bunbury on Thursday.

Just a week after his much-loved flag-bearer Red Can Man was retired, Yarradale Stud stallion Gingerbread Man unearthed a debut winner who can develop into another black-type galloper of the future.

Karnup trainer Jason Miller is looking forward to the Ascot summer carnival with his top-class mares Bonjoy (Maschino) and Admiration Express (My Admiration) and he’s already making plans for a classic campaign in the autumn with Herault (Gingerbread Man).

Ron Sayers was a mining industry leader in the Goldfields as the founder of Ausdrill and he was also a legend in the racing and breeding industries at Yarradale Stud in Gidgegannup.
