Daily Racing Form described Frost Giant as a “white-hot stallion” after his filly Frosty Bay won the $100,000 Statue Of Liberty Stakes (1600m) at Saratoga on Thursday.

It was her second black-type victory in a row on turf following the Cupecoy’s Joy Stakes at Belmont in June.

Frost Giant (Giant’s Causeway) shuttles to Yarradale Stud for his first southern book this year at a $9,900 (inc gst) service fee.

Frost Giant (USA) is making a massive impact with his first crop three year-olds after a record-breaking freshman season in 2012.  And he’s dominating both divisions of the New York Stallion Series at the current Saratoga meet.

His colt West Hill Giant completed a black-type double on turf in the Cab Calloway Stakes (1600m) at Saratoga on Wednesday.  He has earned $421,150 from 4 wins in 11 starts.

Frosty Bay (3f Frost Giant – Baymont by Wild Again) improved her record to 4 wins in 10 starts for prizemoney of $212,580 on Thursday.  Jockey Javier Castellano was content to stay at the back of the pack and, when called on, she rallied with an unimpeded finish to score by two lengths running away.

“I knew sooner or later the leaders would come back,” Castellano said.  “I just wanted to avoid all the traffic.  I kept her on the outside and let her run her race.”

Frosty Bay is a homebred for Robert and Peter Rosenthal.  “I’m so proud...she gives everything every time and that’s her third win from four starts since we put blinkers on,” trainer Dominick Schettino said.  “She's a versatile filly and can be near the lead or off the pace."

The Yarradale team is eagerly awaiting the arrival of Frost Giant in the next 10 days.  He will be introduced to Western Australian breeders at the stud’s open day on Sunday, August 25 along with fellow newcomers Gingerbread Man and associate sire Patronize who will stand at Darling View Stud.

Other stallions on parade will be Kentucky shuttler War Chant and incumbent sires Discorsi, Musket, Scandal Keeper and Heritage.
