Yarradale Stud can play a big hand in the G2 Karrakatta Plate (1200m) with Aurum Belle ($3.20), Beatty ($4.60), Cos I Am ($15) and Rok ‘N’ Rom ($21) prominent in pre-post markets for Perth’s juvenile grand-final on April 18.

Owner Lyn Sayers races Aurum Belle with Ridgeport Farm principal Santo Guagliardo and she has a syndicate share in Cos I Am with Pearce Racing.  Beatty is by Yarradale sire Gingerbread Man and Rok ‘N’ Rom was bred an sold by the Gidgegannup nursery at the 2025 Perth Magic Millions Winter Yearling Sale.

Aurum Belle (2f Snitzel - Dame Giselle by I Am Invincible) is the ruling favourite and continues to firm following black-type victories in the LR Supremacy Stakes (1000m) and G3 Gimcrack Stakes (1100m) back at Ascot yesterday.

Trainer Neville Parnham is known for low-key predictions but was very complementary after a front-running victory in the Gimcrack.  “She can be like a firecracker waiting to light up and was on her hind legs behind the gates.  She drew wide but jumped to the lead and then maintained that speed before kicking off the corner.

“She clocked a much faster time (64.24s) than Beatty and the boys in the Perth Stakes (65.32s).  She’s exciting and, to be honest, I reckon she clocks off.”

Aurum Belle scored by a half-length from RL Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic (1200m) winner Maria Lucia (Rommel) but a more pertinent stat would be the four-length margin to third-placed Lady Torque (Rommel).

“The second filly is courageous but we were a bit too clever today.  She isn’t screwed right down and the experience will see her come on and peak for the Karrakatta.  That would highlight her resume and it would mean we would be looking eastward next season.

“Lyn and Santo paid good money for her in Sydney and a Karrakatta would also make her a very valuable prospect as a broodmare.”

Aurum Belle is a daughter of Champion Australian Sire Snitzel (Redoute’s Choice) and her dam Dame Giselle was a multiple Group 2 winner in Sydney.  Snitzel’s $220,000 fee at Arrowfield Stud was more than justified when Aurum Belle was knocked down for $725,000 at the 2025 Inglis Easter Australian Yearling Sale.

Yarradale’s Karrakatta record is second-to-none with four winners since the turn of the century:  2001 Born Priceless (Pricelessly), 2008 Brava Fortune (Falbrav), 2018 Valour Road (Frost Giant) and 2020 Ima Single Man (Gingerbread Man).
